Crochet Head Wraps

Hey everyone!

I am so excited about this. After lots of work I am finally ready to post my first crochet patterns on Etsy! We are just looking over everything to make sure it is perfect, but I hope to post them on etsy next week. There are 3 different headband styles: 3 Flower Chain Head wrap, Rose Head wrap, and Flower Head wrap. They all have various sizing adjustments to fit babies to adults. Check out a sneak peek of them below. Pictures were taken by the great Kiwi Ashby (www.kiwiashbyphotography.com). She is amazing at what she does!! Right now I am not ready to do custom orders, but I am planning on making the bands and selling them on etsy at a later date. Hey everyone! The blog layout is not helping me keep track of shape requests and ideas and a lot of times I miss comments (so frustrating). So I thought I would start a discussion topic on Facebook to keep it all in one place. Please only post requests and ideas, if you want to post anything else start a new topic so I can keep everything organized. I will try my best to attempt everyones ideas, but sometimes they just don't work or I can't get to it right away, so please don't take any offense. I really do appreciate all of your input! I am a perfectionist and so finishing a shape is a hard process so...yeah :) Thanks everyone! I look forward to hearing from you!

Hey everybody!

Well it has been awhile and I apologize to all who look forward to monthly Silhouette downloads from me. I have been swamped!!! In a kinda good way though :) New exciting ventures, clients and so forth. I have so much that I want to do and it feels like my brain never shuts off. Its always concocting new crafts and ideas. So I thought I would share some of the things I have been working on in the last couple of months. I hope to expand this blog so it is not just about silhouette designs. I hope that's ok with all of you and please still feel free to ask me questions about silhouette and I will try to answer the ones I know ;) hehehe. So here it goes. PS: for silhouette enthusiast that just want to find the silhouette part, skip to the bottom.

So I tried my hand at "sculpting"

Made some lovely topiaries with a friend.

Crocheted cute hats for a friends kids :)

I just love making these sock monkeys! They take on a life of their own. So much fun!

Designing Head wraps. Hoping to add some new designs and post the patterns on etsy soon. For you crocheters out there. If you are interested in making these, stay tuned. The new designs are so cute!!!!

Learning how to sew and since I don't have a little girl...my friends daughters are getting so many new dresses. Love this blue fabric. You can't see it, but it has sparkles.

Finally so Silhouette stuff. First pic is a t-shirt using my pear shape and pharmacy type. The second pic is a food storage coupon book using my 3D poppy design. You can find both shapes in the silhouette store.

Just posted this shape to the silhouette store. Turned out way cuter than I thought it would. Instructions are posted in the info box next to the shape.

By the way.... I love how this first shape turned out. It is a jackpot of a shape because of how many shapes you get. You can use the shelves and the potion bottle separately. The invitations are great. Just pull them up in your silhouette software, add your own text, print and cut. I have done 4 invites in one file so you can crank out more than one invite at a time.

I am having the worst ADD. People need to stop coming out with new things to distract me. So as you can guess silhouette + magnetic paper + magnetic paper dolls idea = me getting really sidetracked and working on Print & Cut paper doll stuff instead of everything else. I guess you shouldn't fight creative urges right? Anyway....look at how much fun I have been having. I just got started with the Lizzy doll, but will do some stuff with the others too. Thanks for putting up with my ADDism. I just get so many new ideas its hard to stay on track :( maybe I need a planner book thingy...you know....one of those :) Well enjoy and if you make some cool stuff, please show me. Man... I have some great stuff I want to work on, but my two year old keeps twirling my chair around and grabbing everything on my desk. so....here is the artwork (unfinished and sketched out) that I will be working (hopefully *sigh*) on this weekend. Oh my goodness, I never knew how much a 2 year old could get into. Is there anything they won't throw on the floor....

k, I'm back... he just spit out a mouth full of partially chewed goldfish onto my desk. Wow...its going to be one of those days. Telling you all about it because I know that there are other moms that can relate. Right?

Updates: I am drawing a blank on those air balloons. I was wondering what patterns to do, but just kept thinking that patterned paper would do the same thing, right? Maybe I am thinking about it all wrong. For the ones who wanted balloons, some pictures of the look you wanted would be great.
Umbrellas: Got some great ideas for a lacy parasol umbrella, just need to draw it out.
If I missed some let me know.

The one on the left is going to be like a frame with grunge back ground with a ghost then with a pumpkin. It might need to be a print and cut so I can do a lot of detail on the grunge. The one on the right will be a background pattern.

The girls will be sketches that you can leave as is or color in.

So we found a place, but we won't be moving in till next week. I finally have a moment to post all the shapes that I have made while in transition. All of these are in the store except for the trucks. If any of you want a version of the birthday boy cards with trucks, let me know. I am still working on birthday girl cards and for those of you waiting for balloons and umbrellas, still working on them. I am not happy with them right now, but I will try to figure it out. Thank you for all the help with ideas...sometimes I get stuck. I have really enjoyed making this font and would love some more phrases to do. Remember that they can't be too specific, since they need to appeal to a large group of people. The more popular the phrase, the better :)

Hot Air Balloons

I am so sorry everyone that I haven't been posting. We are now in CA in temporary housing till we find a place. We should be moved into a new house on August 1st. So I won't be able to catch up with the blog until then :(
Anyway, one of you requested some hot air balloons with patterns in them and I have also seen requests for umbrellas with patterns in them. What kind of patterns did you guys want? Vintage, bright floral, stripes, retro....anyway, let me know.

I filled my limit for this week, so those of you who have requested dogs they will be up next week :) Let me know if you guys need anything else. I will certainly try to make them. I can't guarantee it, but your ideas help so much and I love making you happy.

So before I show more shapes, thought you would all like to know that WE ARE MOVING! My husband is on this rotation program for his company, so we will be moving once a year for 3-4 years. So much fun huh ; ). Anyway we are moving to sunny CA and hoping to get a place close to the beach. We will see though. So it is going to be a busy next couple of months, but we are so excited. So right now he is looking at houses and that beautiful beach. I am so jealous :(

Hey guys. If you haven't checked out my facebook page, you should! So much easier to comment and chat. Anyway, here is how you can add pictures to the fan photo album on facebook!
1. First go to the fan photo's section

2. Second click on one of the thumbnail's to enlarge

3. At the top of the page there should be a link that say's: See all photo's

4. You should then be at a page where you see all the picture's thumbnail's, there at the top of the page you will be a button that say's Add Photo's, click that and you will be allowed to add picture's! I hope that helped someone. lol

I have been thinking about doing print and cuts of buildings, churches, and castles like this...

It would be just black lines so you can print them on any kind of paper you want. It would take to long for the sketch pens, so I thought this would be another option. I just thought that things like this would make cool backgrounds. So what do you think. Would you use it?

Sorry about the wait for new releases from me. It has been so busy and we are planning on moving in less than 2 months, my mom came to visit us on her way home from Israel (so good to see her), and of course easter, working on a crochet afghan etc.... If you want to see pictures of the finished afghan I would be happy to post them, it is a great pattern for those crocheters out there. So a couple things:

1. Thought I would share a little of my life. Hope thats ok. Look at the cute pics I took of our little one. Umm...maybe not quite so little anymore :)

Hey Everyone!

So I am going to make words and phrases for all of you out there. There is a couple ways I was thinking about doing this. I can make one word a bunch of different ways and sell them together or I can make a bunch of different words of one theme. I will have to mull it over. Anyway, your homework, leave comments with all the words and phrases you would like to have! Fun homework huh ;) If you would like to make it simpler for me to organize them you could even post like this:

baby: sweet, dream, little one...

sports: play ball, goal, score...

home: home is where the heart is...

You can post as many times and as much as you want. If you want to go into more detail about what kind of look you want, you can also do this:

baby: sweet (elegant), dream (fun)...

sports: play ball (varsity look), goal (grunge), score (block letters)...

home: home is where the heart is (cursive/elegant)...

Yay! This stuff is so much fun. I will submit the designs to silhouette today! Remember that all of these designs can be used for regular scrapbooking, wall vinyl art, and card making. I hope you guys enjoy it! One of the baby onsie designs (princess in training) I combined with one of my rhinestone flourishes. There are so many more to come so get excited out there! :)

Hey Everyone!

Here are some new shapes for you! I am aware that some of you don't have printers for the print&cuts so I have made sketch versions for you :) If you haven't used the sketch pens...I would highly recommend them. They are so much fun and come in a bunch of different colors. Some ideas for using the sketches are:
1. Make the sketch with your silhouette and use colored pencils, markers, etc to add your own flavor and some color to the whimsical sketches.
2. Make the sketch with your silhouette, but don't use the cut out that is in the file. You can use the sketch as a background to border the side of your layout or card.

If any of you out there have used some of my sketches in these or different ways, I would love for you to send me pictures that I can post! rivkawilkins@yahoo.com I will try to make my own samples for you to show, but I have been so busy with being sick, taking care of a sick baby, and trying to invent new shapes, so I can't guarantee it. Plus I just love seeing what you come up with. It makes me happy:) While your at it check out the silhouette blog at http://silhouettemachine.blogspot.com/. They had a contest and one of the artists did the cutest thing with my birdy :)

I have also decided to actually start writing more info on my blog (hope that's ok with you). Hopefully you can put up with my ramblings. I have heard so much from you and I thought I would give back so you can get to know me. Sorry to those that have so kindly sent me requests that I haven't produced yet. Sometimes I try, but it just doesn't work :( I know its sad, but I so appreciate the inspiration.

One more thing. Some of you ask me questions in the comments and I worry that when I respond that there is no way for you to know. New Paper Doll

ok everyone...here is what I've been working on for the body of the paper doll. Now I can make the arms separate so you can move them, but that would make making clothing for them a little difficult. The arm on the left is bent inward which gives you more options, but again, making clothing more difficult. The body right now is 4 pieces. head, 2 arms and body. I thought about leaving it this way and letting you guys fuse it in the silhouette software. Any feedback would be great. Just remember that I need to make clothes to fit and arm movement is a little bit of an issue. Hope you guys like it.

PS: I am thinking about making a variety of facial expressions, but they cannot be to detailed.
