Home for the Holidays


Being Home for the Holidays means being with those you love, near or far. Below you will find supplies and instructions to make this cute and simple card!

Supplies

RR Merry and Bright Font by Rivka’s Renditions
(From the Silhouette Online Store)
White Cardstock
Turquoise Cardstock from DCWV Brights Cardstock Stack
Glue, Cutter, Foam Squares, Red Marker

InsTrucTions

1.   Download Rivka’s Renditions RR Merry and Bright Font.
2.   Print the Quote either on the Silhouette machine or from any printer of choice. Center the quote make it fit in a rectangle shape.
You can also use the sketch pen for the title and color it in.
3.   Draw a heart in the middle and color is red.
4.   Cut out your pieces of paper:
Turquoise Cardstock – 5”x 7”
Home cardstock – 5”x 5.5” (make sure to use the bottom of the paper so that you get the homes as a border)
Quote on White Cardstock – Cut around the quote
Striped Cardstock – Cut to be ¼” on each side of the quote
Glitter Cardstock – 1”x 5”
5.   Layer your paper as seen in the picture. Remember to Place the White Cardstock on the Striped paper and use Foam squares to attach it to the card to give dimension.

Pop Up cards Tutorial

I'm sorry everyone, I really thought I did this years ago. Maybe it was accidentally deleted. Well here it is again. Follow these guidelines for all the pop up cards. cut out all your shapes and remove any negative space that will not be part of the finished design, like the inside of letters, between the letters and the cake decorations. fold the backing along the perforated lines glue around the outside of the design and the bottom part. For the other pop up cards (valentine, train, spring, etc) glue the parts that will not be protruding (in between the letters) glue the front to the backing sandwich the paper with the opening away from you = down sandwich with the opening toward you = up fold along the perforated lines. For the birthday card you will be folding, from the bottom of the design,  up, down, up, down, etc. Sort of like an accordion. The card will start to form a right angle as you go.
